ΕΝΟΙΚΙΑΣΗ ΑΥΤΟΚΙΝΗΤΩΝ Αεροδρόμιο Λαντβέτερ Γκέτεμποργκ (GOT)

Gothenburg Airport (GOT), also known as Göteborg Landvetter Airport, is the second largest airport in Sweden after Stockholm Arlanda Airport.

First opened in 1977 by Sweden’s King Carl XVI Gustaf, the airport today welcomes over 5 million passengers a year as well as being a key cargo destination for the west of Sweden. The airport has a single terminal, which was extended in 2023 with new gates and increased facilities and seating to improve the passenger experience.

There is a regular shuttle bus to the centre of Gothenburg and there are plans in the pipeline to connect the airport to Gothenburg Central Station with a new high-speed rail line.

Today the airport serves 58 destinations in 27 countries with daily flights to Stockholm Arlanda Airport.

The airport is located on the eastern side of the city of Gothenburg with good road access via the Route 40 and Route 27 highways.

From the Avis car park at Gothenburg Airport to the centre of Gothenburg is a drive of 8km, which will take around 25min depending on the time of day. Head west from the airport and drive along Route 40 and Route 27, following signs to the centre of the city.

The Gothenburg City Museum takes you on a journey from the city’s prehistoric roots right through to the present day. Sweden’s love of slick and minimalist design is showcased at the Röhsska Museum (the national museum of Swedish design), home to a collection of 50,000 objects.

A trip to Liseberg, one of Scandinavia’s most popular amusement parks, is something that the whole family will enjoy. Right in the heart of the city, this amusement park‘s standout ride is Balder – a wooden rollercoaster that reaches speeds of 90km per hour.

Gothenburg Landvetter Airport provides the perfect gateway to the treasures of west Sweden. With the convenience of a car, many of the country’s hidden gems are less than two hours away.

Tanumshede

Tanumshede in the northwest of Sweden can be reached in less than two hours from Gothenburg Landvetter Airport. Tanumshede is the central town of the municipality of Tanum. Don’t miss the ancient rock carvings, located just 2km south of the town. You can discover thousands of carvings from the Bronze Age at this UNESCO World Heritage Site. 

Skövde

Drive for just under two hours via the E20 and you’ll reach the small city of Skövde. Nestled at the foot of Billingen Mountain, this is a great destination for outdoor enthusiasts. There are many tracks for running and mountain biking in the area, as well as a lake for watersports. During the winter months, wrap up for skiing, ice skating, and sledding.
